The East Coast Greenway stands as a monumental achievement in connecting people and places across the Eastern United States. Spanning 3,000 miles from the serene landscapes of Maine to the sunny beaches of Florida, this vibrant pathway links fifteen states and over four hundred cities and towns. For those who cherish adventure, health, and community, the Greenway offers a unique opportunity to engage with scenic vistas and diverse urban centers. At Lowcountry Bike/Walk Advocates in Bluffton, we encourage everyone to experience the wonders of the East Coast Greenway, whether on foot or by bike, fostering a deeper appreciation for our environment and the communities we traverse.
The Beaufort County Connects: Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan 2021 is a proactive planning tool that supports improved access to bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure throughout the County and its municipalities. It is the result of a year-long, collaborative effort of a Bicycle/Pedestrian Taskforce made up of members from Beaufort County, the City of Beaufort, the Town of Port Royal, the Town of Bluffton, the Town of Hilton Head Island, the City of Hardeeville, Jasper County, the Lowcountry Council of Governments, community and advocacy groups, and bike and pedestrian citizen advocates.
